SUMMARY:Building the Evidence Base for Cultural and Creative Industries Policy
DESCRIPTION:The Culture and Society Research Hub invites you to a panel discussion on Wednesday 3 September\, 12:00–13:00\, in room CQ-107\, Central Quad\, TU Dublin\, Grangegorman.\n\nModerated by Dr. Caroline O’Sullivan\, Academic Lead for the Hub\, the session brings together representative bodies\, funders\, and researchers.\n\nThe discussion will explore what Irish cultural policy could look like if it were built on the same quality of data as other sectors of the economy. Across the Cultural and Creative Industries including screen production\, games\, and the arts\, individual organisations gather data that speaks to their own remit\, but no shared infrastructure exists to bring these disparate sets into a coherent national picture.\n\nThe panel examines this gap through three lenses on work:\n\n\nWork done: games as commercial output and the policy case for supporting it\n\n\nWorking conditions: job sharing as a structural response to precarity in screen production\n\n\nWork needed: requirements for a functioning evidence base and who might build it\n\n\n\nThe ambition is to make the case that Irish cultural policy needs and could develop a research framework commensurate with the sector’s economic and cultural importance.\n\nYou can register for the event via this form. The session is part of a larger showcase for the ARISE programme\, and you are most welcome to join earlier in the day if your schedule allows.

SUMMARY:CPOI Members Conversation 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online CPOI Members Conversation! \nRegister at the website below before 23 September\, bring lunch and join other CPOI members for an interactive discussion — an opportunity for members to connect\, share ideas\, and get involved in CPOI. \nCPOI is a shared space\, shaped by the contributions\, interests\, and ideas of its members. This session hosted via Zoom will be a chance to explore what that means for everyone and what members would like to lead\, create\, collaborate on\, or see happen across the network. It will also prompt  exploration of how CPOI as a growing network of individuals can support one another in bringing those ideas to life. \nTogether\, this session will offer attendees the opportunity to: \n\nConnect with other CPOI members\nReflect on what members value about the network\nShare ideas for future activities and initiatives\nExplore possibilities for member-led events\, knowledge sharing\, research conversations\, and new formats\n\nThis will be a space for conversation\, connection\, and imagining what we can create together.  \nUnlike most activities coordinated through CPOI or promoted here\, this session is not open to non-members.
