The true meaning of cultural policy exchange

On Monday 10 November, the newly relaunched CPOI hosted the publication launch of the new edited collection Cultural Policy – Perspectives on the island of Ireland at TU Dublin, Grangegorman. More than 60 people assembled from the cultural sector, academia and policy bodies. They joined in celebrating the publication and heard from a range of speakers, including guest keynote Professor Dave O’Brien, University of Manchester who set the scene for the day. More than a book launch the event reinforced the growing dialogue and sense of collaborative exchange between researchers and scholars, artists, practitioners, public bodies and government departments.

At the event, the network was formally relaunched with a new membership sign-up and a new Steering Committee. Co-Founder Kerry McCall Magan (British Council) stepped down as Co-Director alongside Victoria Durrer (University College Dublin). Ali FitzGibbon (Queen’s University Belfast) will now sit as Co-Director on the Steering Committee, also now comprising Maria O’Brien (University of Galway) and Phil Ramsey (Ulster University).

The publication is available now in hard copy and e-book with an introductory 20% offer with the code ‘SMA38’
